Tom Seiz Wins First Place in the Middlesex County Senior Citizen Art Contest

EDISON, NJ - Tom Seiz of South Plainfield placed first in the Middlesex County Senior Citizen Art Contest held at Middlesex County College.  Seiz’s creation “Lilypads and Big Blue” took first place in the Professional Acrylic category.   The awards were hosted at Middlesex County College on Friday August 15, and they were presented by Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ron Rios.  

Seiz has been a life-long resident of South Plainfield.  According to Seiz his interest in art was apparent at an early age when he was given a set of pastels by his elementary school teacher who encouraged his love of drawing and painting.  Siez won an art scholarship where he studied under Philips Simkin at the Art Foundation on Long Beach Island, New Jersey.    

Most people know Seiz as a South Plainfield teacher.  He taught Biology for 30 years at South Plainfield High School.

Seiz owns and operates “The Artists Touch.  The Artists Touch has been located in the downtown section of South Plainfield for the last 20 years.   

Seiz has won a number of art shows and continues to show and sell his artwork throughout New Jersey.  His paintings can be found at many galleries across the New Jersey.

South Brunswick: Route 130 Crash Critically Injures Motorcyclist

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – A crash on Route 130 Friday morning critically injured a motorcyclist, police said.
