As the Lansdale Farmers' Market wound down, over in Towamencin Township's Fischer's Park, the fervor was just getting started Saturday afternoon.
Vendors galore and food aplenty was part of the township's Community Day. The hoagies from Towamencin Volunteer Fire Co. were favorites, as were hot dogs, Chick-fil-a chicken sandwiches and Italian water ice.
Towamencin Fire Co.'s engines were also a hit with the youth, as was the chance to pretend to be a real firefighter by spraying the fire hose. The petting zoo, with its llama and ponys to ride, was another big hit of the day.
Pots and Pans Mobile Catering was making mouths water with its loaded fires, chicken cheesesteaks and more.
State Rep. Kate Harper made an appearance, as did all five Towamencin Township supervisors. In addition to various independent arts, craft and decor vendors, businesses and organizations like Morgan Log House, HomeSite Remodeling, PECO, SKF, Family Worship Center, Univest, Towamencin Republicans, Towamencin Democrats, the North Penn YMCA, Lansdale Tutoring Center, and Milestones in Music took part in the day's activities.
Meanwhile, the entire day had a soundtrack thanks to the talents of the North Penn jazz bands, Montgomery County Concert Band and the Gwynedd Square/Inglewood Chamber Strings, to name a few.
