Training Wheel Toss on Sunday

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- A few spots remain for Sunday’s “Training Wheels Toss,” conducted by Fanwood Recreation. The program, which encourages young bike riders to get up on two wheels, will be held from 1-4 p.m. at the Union County Vocational School parking lot, 1776 Raritan Road in Scotch Plains. Pre-registration is required and can be done online. The cost is $3.
All participants must wear a helmet and have a bicycle that is in good working condition. Additionally, all cyclists must be able to rest their feet flat on the ground while sitting on his or her bicycle seat. All participants must be at least four years old and be accompanied by an adult throughout the session. No exceptions. 
Helmets, coloring books and other items, provided by Westfield Regional Health Dept. through the Safe Kids of Union County’s ‘Be Hard Headed’ Campaign, will be given to participants on a first come-first serve basis.
