Triwomen 2014 Kickoff for Women's Sprint Triathlon Training

January 15, 2014 at 5:06 PM

Have you ever thought about trying a Triathlon? Come join Triwomen, a group of local women who are preparing to participate in the Jersey Girl Triathlon on August 3rd and/or the IronGirl Women's Sprint Triathlon on September 7, 2014. The group is beginning its 8th year and has helped over 700 women successfully complete a sprint triathlon.

Triwomen provides inspiration, education, and opportunities for women of all ages, shapes and sizes who are interested in taking on the challenge of completing a sprint triathlon. Participation in the Triwomen Group is free and open to all women in our area. Members of the group range in age from 14 to 70+. The group is led by volunteer leaders who have experience participating in triathlons and are passionate about helping others achieve this goal in a friendly, non-competitive environment. Triwomen is a volunteer organization supported by the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA, The Westfield Area Y and the JCC of Central New Jersey.

For those who are interested, the Triwomen Group is hosting two informational “Kickoff” meetings this month. The first meeting is on Wednesday, January 22nd at 7:30 pm at the Westfield YMCA, 220 Clark Street, Westfield, NJ and an additional meeting will be held at the Scotch Plains Fanwood YMCA, 1340 Martine Ave in Scotch Plains, on Thursday, January 30th at 7:30 p.m. You do not need to be a member of either facility to attend the meetings.
