CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Florida has more than 3,000 cases of Covid-19 variants -- the most of any state in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The latest data shows Florida with 3,191 cases of the U.K. strain, 64 cases of the Brazilian variant, and 24 cases of the South African strain.
Michigan, the state with the next highest number of cases, has a total of 1,657 cases, CDC data shows.
Infectious disease experts worry the Covid-19 variants could spread further after spring break, especially among people who visited Florida.
As of Tuesday, 6,437,330 people have received vaccines in Florida, and 3,769,667 people have been fully vaccinated, according to the Florida Department of Health.
In Broward County, 570,571 people have been vaccinated.
