PATERSON, NJ -  In the city's ninth murder of the year, a 33-year-old Paterson man was shot and killed early Tuesday morning at the corner of Godwin Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard.
Paterson Police Lt. Richard Reyes said Asan Jones of the 200 block of E.28th Street was shot multiple times shortly after midnight Tuesday morning.
"We're in the early stages of the investigation, we're still interviewing witnesses,'' said Reyes, when asked about a possible motive in the killing.

Authorities would not say whether the shooting involved one or multiple gunmen.
Police received a call almost as soon as the shooting happened and found Jones fatally wounded on the street. He was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Reyes asked that anyone with information about the crime contact Paterson Det. Robert Pleasant at 973-321-1120.
