Turtle Back Zoo Hosting “Howl-O-Ween” Trick-or-Treating

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ - Turtle Back Zoo is inviting children to come dressed in their costumes on Halloween afternoon and evening to participate in their annual “Howl-O-Ween” trick-or-treating event. Admission will cost $3 for Zoological Society of New Jersey members and $5 for non-members. The fee will cover free refreshments, rides on the “Not-So-Scary Train Ride” and 30 stations where trick or treaters can collect candy. The celebration will take place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. The zoo is located at 560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange.

“We invite you to come to Essex County Turtle Back Zoo for our Howl-O-Ween celebration,” enthused Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. “Come dressed in your costumes and trick-or-treat in our zoo neighborhood. The festive atmosphere will be enjoyable for both kids and their parents, and the adults will have peace of mind knowing their children are celebrating Halloween in a safe and controlled atmosphere.” 

Turtle Back Zoo is open Mondays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Regular admission is $8 for children and senior citizens, $11 for adults and free for children under 2 years. For additional information, please call 973-731-5800.
