PATERSON, NJ - A 33-year-old Paterson man is in critical condition at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center after being shot early Friday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced.

According to a report the incident took place in the area of 12th Avenue and 23rd Street just before 1:00 a.m., hours after a second Paterson man, 27, arrived at Saint Joseph’s for treatment of a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Police say the initial incident took place at approximately 8:57 p.m. in the area of Belle Avenue and Hopper Street.
