Two Shot in Front of Rosa Parks Chicken Restaurant

PATERSON, NJ - Two city men were in stable condition after being wounded outside a restaurant in a drive-by shooting early Saturday morning.

According to Lt. Patrick Murray, the victims, ages 18 and 20, were standing outside Rosa Parks Chicken Restaurant on the corner of Rosa Parks Blvd. and Hamilton Avenue at around 4:30 a.m. when they were struck by shots from a vehicle being driven past the restaurant. The 18-year-old victim was hit in the right shoulder and the 20-year-old victim was wounded in the left leg.

"Ballistics evidence was recovered from the scene, and will be submitted to the ballistics lab for further examination," Murray said. "At least one of the fired projectiles entered the waiting area of the chicken store."

Detectives are currently reviewing area video footage in an attempt to ascertain more information on the suspect vehicle.Anyone with information about the shootings is urged to contact the Ceasefire Unit at (973) 321-1342 and ask for either Det. Edgar Taylor or Det. Rolando Polio.
