Two South Orange Vehicles Burglarized

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – Thieves stole a stereo system and a license plate from two separate vehicles.

A Fairview Avenue resident reported that somebody broke into his 2003 Pontiac and removed the stereo sometime between 7 p.m. on Jan. 27 and 2 p.m. on Jan. 28.  The vehicle was locked, and no other items were reported stolen.

An Academy Street resident told police that someone stole the front license plate from her 2008 Mercedes sometime during the overnight hours of Jan. 26.

Police also arrested one person on suspicion of trespassing.

Troy Turner, 19, of South Orange, was taken into custody when officers responded to a report from a College Place resident that someone had scaled a fence and entered her back yard on Jan. 27.  Turner was located a short distance from the property and was arrested without incident.
