HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - Two veteran township police officers have each been promoted to the rank of lieutenant.

Joined by their respective families, David Fisher and James Omert were sworn in at last week's Township Committee meeting. The vacancies in the position of Lieutenant were the result of recent retirements and the promotion of Police Chief Michael McMahon.

“We are fortunate to have the depth of experience within our department for promotions such as this,”said Mayor Frank DelCore during the swearing in ceremony. “There is nearly 50 years of combined experience with these two officers,” he added.
