ROXBURY, NJ – The 8th Grade Roxbury Varsity Junior Gaels didn't lose a game this year. One more victory and the 13-year-olds will be the champions of their conference.

The game will be held Saturday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. in Jannarone Park, Parsippany.

The team's regular season ended on Oct. 26 with the young athletes celebrating their undefeated season and No. 1 seed in the Iron Division of the Morris County Youth Football League.

The team won the championship two years ago as Pee Wees and are ready to bring it back to Roxbury before they head into high school. The players, who love their community and the sport, are just as dedicated off the field; this year this team raised almost $1,000 and purchased much-needed equipment for the football field Snack Stand.

They also spruced-up the Snack Stand a bit with paint and banners as a way of showing their gratitude and to celebrate Horseshoe Lake’s new turf field.

“These boys are winners in all our eyes already, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for them,” said one parent.

The team is led by head coach Dean Campiglia and assistant coaches Tom Rattey, Craig Skawinski, Kevin Collins, Greg Patton, John Irwin and Ryan Williams.

The boys and coaches have worked hard all season long with numerous practices, regular and semi-final games. Bringing home this win to the Roxbury football program would mean a lot to the organization, the community, the coaches and families as they finish off their run within the Junior Gaels Football Program.
