NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The New Providence High School PTSA is sponsoring its annual Prom Fashion Show and Tricky Tray Monday night, Feb. 10 beginning at 6 p.m. at New Providence High School.
This year's theme is "Under the Sea." With baskets valued at more than $22,000, this year the PTSA has more than 110 baskets to win. Merchandise includes Broadway tickets, an iPad Mini, Kindle, Longchamp, Tiffany, Coach, Vera Bradley, Alex & Ani, Weber grill, Beach cruiser bicycle, girl's and boy's dorm, and gift certificates including memberships to fitness clubs, restaurants, sporting events, spas, salons and more.
More than 94 members of the senior class will model fashions provided by La Belle Boutique of Jersey City, Lord & Taylor of Westfield, David's Bridal of Springfield and Coleman's of Short Hills. This year, the auditorium has been transformed into an underwater wonderland complete with mermaid, a shipwreck, underwater treasure, and more.
This community event has been growing each year. With more than 500 in atendance, the Prom Fashion Show and Tricky Tray is the primary fundraiser for the high school, funding programs such as scholarships, special programs, mini grants, art projects around the school, language programs and more.
The high school PTSA invites all in the community to attend. Elementary school children get a chance to visit the high school and see how the seniors support the school. The seniors act as role models for the younger students. The faculty, administration, parents and students come together to produce this event. All are welcome.
