Union County Officials Warn of Icy Roads


WESTFIELD, NJ — Update: The National Weather Service has extended the freezing rain advisory for the area until 1 a.m. Jan. 6, and a dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Monday.

The County of Union sent out an alert email Sunday morning warning that an ice storm was hitting the Union County area, causing slick roads and sidewalks. The county urged people to avoid travel if possible and to take extra caution if travel was necessary.
