United Way of Greater Union County and the Union County Department of Human Services Partnering for Union County MusicFest

United Way of Greater Union County (UWGUC) and the County of Union Department of Human Services (DHS) are partnering for the 14th Annual Union County MusicFest.  In addition to kicking off UWGUC’s annual campaign, the organization in partnership with DHS will be raising funds to help support the Union County Family Strengthening Network (UCFSN) Fund.

The UCFSN, in partnership with the DHS, has become one of the key leaders in the countywide effort to develop a comprehensive strategy to address the needs of children and families in Union County. The network includes three major initiatives: five Family Success Centers, Nurse Family Partnership and the Community Resources Network made up of United Way certified non-profit partners in Union County. United Way will have on-site donation booths at the fest located near center stage, Kids Village and Vendor Village. All proceeds raised will go towards helping vulnerable families in need of emergency assistance such as food, clothing and shelter. DHS will hold a clothing drive throughout the festival as well. They will be collecting new and gently used hats, coats, boots and gloves.

The Union County Fair featuring MusicFest brings together thousands of people in the community for free non-stop musical entertainment and fun for the entire family from September 14th – 18th at Oak Ridge Park in Clark. This year’s MusicFest will once again include three stages which will host an exciting line-up of popular national and local musical acts including artists such as Blondie, Collective Soul, Neon Trees and The Smithereens.
