EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ:  Following a contentious race, Democrats have swept local and state elections in East Brunswick and New Jersey.  In East Brunswick, the Democratic team of Jim Wendell, Sharon Sullivan, and Kevin McEvoy have been awarded with places on the town council. 

On the Middlesex County Board of Freeholders, Democrats Ron Rios and Shanti Narra have retained their seats.

In Congress, Democrat Bonnie Watson Coleman will remain the Congressional Representative for District 12, having defeated East Brunswick's Daryl Kipnis.

Statewide, Democrat Robert Menendez has defeated challenger Robert Hugin, retaining his seat in the US Senate.

In the non-partisan local election for East Brunswick Board of Education, Jeffrey Winston, a newcomer, will join incumbents Barbara Reiss and Vicki Becker.
