UPDATED: Details Emerge About Death at Livingston Town Garage

LIVINGSTON, NJ – As of 8 p.m. on Dec. 12, investigators and representatives from OSHA were still on the scene at the Livingston Town Garage, located at 235 S. Livingston Ave. investigating a fatal accident that happened earlier in the day.

The Essex County Prosecutor's office has confirmed that a maintenance worker, Gregory Johnston, 67, of Ledgwood, was working on a township gasoline pump when a township-owned dump truck operated by a township employee struck him in the parking lot, resulting in a fatal injury.

Johnston worked for Fairfield Maintenance Company who has a contract with the Livingston Township to work on its oil and gas tanks.

No Charges have been filed at this time. The Essex County Prosecutors Office is still investigating.
