Updated: Hasbrouck Heights Man Arrested On Child Pornography Charges

UPDATED:  Hasbrouck Heights Superintendent of Schools Dr. Matthew Helfant confirmed that the Brandon Mays-Stubbs does not work for the Hasbrouck Heights School District, and that the report that he did in the Bergen Record was inaccurate.  

A robo-call informing parents of those who have children in the school district was sent out Saturday afternoon. 

 

HACKENSACK, NJ -  Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of Brandon Mays -Stubbs of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ on the charges of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child and Attempted Production Of Child Pornography.

The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, under the direction of Sheriff Michael Saudino. On Wednesday, June 20, 2018, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office – Bureau of Police Services received information that two students, who are normal passengers on school bus service provided to the Bergen County school system, were propositioned for naked photos by the school bus driver via text messages. As a result of the investigation,

Mays-Stubbs was arrested on Thursday, June 21, 2018 and charged with one count of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child, a 2nd degree crime, and Attempted Production Of Child Pornography, a 2 nd degree crime.

He is scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Acting Prosecutor Calo states that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance with this investigation.
