LIVINGSTON, NJ — An 11-year-old Livingston male avoided injury on Wednesday afternoon when he was struck by a vehicle on Broadlawn Drive (Mt. Pleasant Schools) at approximately 3:32 p.m., according to Livingston police.

The driver, a 68-year-old West Orange woman who was operating a 2018 Lexus NX, told police that the child emerged suddenly from between two parked cars and attempted to cross the street. According to police, the child’s mother was at the scene and declined any medical treatment. Police also noted that the child was not using a crosswalk.
