Vernazza, Vena Place for Chatham at Valentine Invitational

MADISON, NJ - Chatham runners Dominic Vernazza and Andrew Vena each placed second in respective events on Wednesday at the Valentine Invitational at Drew University.

Vernazza finished second in the 1600 in 4:40.73 and also crossed fifth in the 1000 in 2:43.72. Vena was second in the 400-meter dash in 53.55.

JV: Liam Hynes of Chatham was first in the 1000-meter run in meet-record time of 2:54.52; Nicholas Ferrone won the 55-meter dash in 7:09 and also won the 300-meter dash in 40.26; Dylan Ott was sixth in the 300-meter race in 41.77.

Frosh: Chris Schneider won the 1600 for Chatham in 5:11.1; Alec Gonzalez was fourth in 5:11.77.
In the shot put, Ed Dennerlein posted a personal best of 39'10"; JV shot put: Mark Kellstrom was fourth with a throw of 33'1.25"; freshman Colin Crouse was 3rd with a heave of 36'1".
