Veterans Council To Honor City Men Killed in Iraq

PATERSON, NJ - The Paterson Veterans Council is tryng to raise money to inscribe the names of three city soldiers who died in Iraq on a monument at the Veterans Memorial Park on McBride Avenue, according to northjersey.com.
 
The council hopes to raise enough money at its beefsteak dinner on Nov. 5 at The Brownstone, the story said. Donations to the Nov. 5 beefsteak are tax-deductible and can be made to the Paterson Veterans Council, 296 Maitland Ave., Paterson, NJ 07502. The story identified the soldiers whose lives are being honored as Army Spc. Gil Mercado, 25, who died in April 2003; Army Spc. Farid Elazzouzi`, 26, who died in June 2007 and Army Sgt. Christian Bueno-Galdos, 25, who died in May 2009.
