Victim Stable After 5th Ward Shooting Friday Morning


PATERSON, NJ - Police are investigating the 5th Ward shooting Friday morning of a 24-year-old city man who is in stable condition at St. Joseph's Medical Center.

According to Lt. Patrick Murray, the victim was shot in the torso at about 12:45 a.m. near the corner of Carroll Street and Park Avenue.

"It appears that the victim was walking with another male in the area of Park Avenue and Carroll Street when they were approached by a male who began firing in their direction," Murray said. "The victim was subsequently struck once while attempting to flee on foot."
