Vill and Shannon Hughes Lead South Plainfield Tigers’ over North Brunswick 6-1

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – South Plainfield senior Shannon Hughes went 2-4 with two runs scored and three RBI’s, and freshman Katherine Vill scattered just three hits over seven innings to defeat the North Brunswick Raiders 6-1.  The victory improves Vill’s record to 3-1 on the season.  Vill struck out eleven Raiders and walked none. 

South Plainfield broke the game open in the top of the seventh inning, scoring three runs to put the Tigers up 6-1.  The victory improves South Plainfield’s record to 4-1 on the season, and North Brunswick falls to 0-3.  South Plainfield plays home tomorrow against Perth Amboy at 10:30 a.m.
