EDISON, NJ - Bodnar’s Auction Sales is gearing up for the 5th annual Classic and Sports Car Auction on Saturday, Feb. 23 when the red carpet will be rolled out for some beautiful classic and sports cars that will cross the auction block.
The event is held in conjunction with the NJ Home Show at the NJ Convention and Expo Center, 97 Sunfield Ave.
“We started this event back in 2015 with the help of Eric Udler who runs the NJ Home Show," said Joe Bodnar, owner and auctioneer. "It was his idea to give the crowds coming to the Home Show something new to see.
"It was such a huge success, we ran with it,” he added.
In the first year, the two notable sales were a 1931 Ford Model A in completely original condition that sold for $8,625, and a 1954 Chevy Bel Air convertible in a fantastic, eye-popping blue that sold for $18,400.
In 2016, a 2003 Dodge Viper sold for $28,750 and a 1972 MG drew a high bid of $5,635
The following year a 1931 Ford convertible Roadster Hot Rod kit custom made by Classic in West Palm Beach Fla. brought in a cool $11,845. There was an original 1930 Chrysler Roadster Model 66 that was absolutely beautiful and was taken home by the highest bidder for $17,365.
