EAST AMWELL, NJ - The Flemington Speedway Historical Society will present an overflowing tent of vintage race cars and memorabilia at the Hunterdon County 4-H and Agricultural Fair, which will be held August 22 through the 26 at the Roger K. Everitt Fairgrounds here.
Some noted vintage cars which are scheduled for display throughout the fair are the Mataka Brothers 3n1 Silver Crown car, the Karl Freyer #4 Gremlin tribute car, the original Stan Ploski 707 Donkey stock car, and the Billy Osmun Statewide #3 tribute stock car, as well as several others.
Visitors can also view the Flemington Speedway Historical Society’s trailer, which is wrapped with numerous race cars and scenes from the former Flemington Speedway.
The society’s mission is to preserve and document the history of the Flemington Fairgrounds and Speedway, which shut down in 2000. Besides its big display, which will be open daily, the society will have information available for their annual car show, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 20, rain or shine, at the fairgrounds.
