HAMILTON, NJ --  Every parent worries that their kids get to school and back home again safely.   Hamilton Township announced on Monday that they are looking for individuals to work as part–time substitute school crossing guards to make sure students are safe on their walking routes.  

Potential school crossing guards would earn $18.28 per hour.   They must be available to work Monday through Friday during the morning hours of 8:30 am to 9:00 am, and in the afternoons between 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm. However, scheduled hours may vary per school. 

Applicants will undergo a criminal background check, must be "sound in body and of good health," and be able to tolerate inclement weather.  References for candidates also are required.

Applications can be obtained between 8:00 am. and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday at the Hamilton Township Police Department Headquarters in Division Traffic Unit located 1270 Whitehorse - Mercerville Road.
