Nik Wallenda is taking the motto “DO AC” to staggering new heights. The undisputed King of the High Wire will perform a heart-pounding tightrope walk high above the Atlantic City beach. This free-to-the-public spectacle, presented by the Atlantic City Alliance, will begin at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2012.
“Atlantic City has a long tradition of jaw-dropping feats that entertain, inspire and amaze,” said Liza Cartmell, President of the Atlantic City Alliance. "This free event along the famed Boardwalk with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop is perfect for AC visitors. Considering the immense media attention that follows Nik and his broad appeal in pop culture, his appearance will shine a bright spotlight on AC. We know people will not want to miss this."
Wallenda’s perilous 1,500 foot walk will begin at Sovereign Avenue and the Beach, adjacent to Atlantic Club Casino, and finish above the beach at Tropicana Casino & Resort. Wallenda hopes to complete the walk in 27 minutes, using only a 24 foot balance pole. No harness or other safety mechanisms will be in place. In the event of rain, the high wire walk will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012.
Caesars Atlantic City is a name that represents unmatched luxury, only accepting the best-of-the-best, so when the resort destination’s newest outlet, A Time For Wine II, opened in the beginning of July, guests knew exactly what to expect.
“A Time For Wine II sets itself apart from traditional liquor shops because we cover the gamut,” said Janet Markowitz, A Time For Wine II Owner and Margate, New Jersey resident. “Anyone looking to pick up a bottle of their favorite brand can stop in and choose from our huge selection, but what really makes A Time For Wine II a rare treasure are the non-traditional items we offer, such as Lamborghini cigars lighters, wine canteens, and gift baskets, we can even create personalized bottles of wine. A Time For Wine II is here for Atlantic City visitors and locals alike, we want to be everyone’s go-to store.
A Time For Wine II is located on the second floor of Caesars and just minutes from the Atlantic City Boardwalk. The store features over 1,800 square-feet of champion cigars, craft beers, upscale liquors, and superior wines. The amenity caters to people looking for reasonable priced spirits in a lavish setting, with guests choosing from over 1,000 different brand wines, 350 cigars, 200 liquors, and 100 domestic and international beers.
Customers will find comfort in knowing that their favorite selections like Grey Goose vodkas, Rogue beers, Francis Coppola wines, and Romeo and Juliet cigars will always be in stock. Connoisseurs seeking the exotic will be enticed by the high-end brands of A Time For Wine II like a 25year-old, single malt bottle of Glenlivet scotch, a bottle of Gran Patron Burdeos tequila, which has been aged in trench Boudreaux wine casks, or even Cigar Aficionado Magazine’s number one rated cigar, Alec Bradley’s Prensado. HBO’s Boardwalk Empire fans even have reason to indulge, as A Time For Wine is the exclusive home, and the only place to find Nucky’s Boardwalk Red and Nucky’s Speak Easy Reserve.
“Caesars couldn’t be more pleased to partner with such a unique amenity like A Time For Wine II and with a pillar of the Atlantic City community like Janet Markowitz,” said Don Marrandino, Eastern Division President for Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City. “Janet’s reputation in this region supersedes her; she’s a hard-worker, who wholeheartedly believes in this city. We’ve been working together on this concept since November of 2011, so the fact that it has come to fruition is simply remarkable. They’ve transformed a previous unused space into is something truly special, that will serve our customers proud,” continued Marrandino.

Child prodigy Autumn de Forest will bring a diverse collection of artwork to Ocean Galleries in August, including one very special painting of the U.S. flag, which the ten-year old has donated in support of The Women And Cancer Fund.
Ocean Galleries hosts “Child Prodigy: A diverse collection of artwork by Autumn de Forest” at their Stone Harbor location (9618 Third Avenue) on Friday, August 3, 2012 through Sunday, August 12, 2012, where de Forest’s patriotic painting, “America (Healing Flag)” will be unveiled. The painting is a brilliant cross-pollination of two iconic American creations: Betsy Ross' seminal 13 star hand sewn American flag, and one of our country's pre-eminent mid-century painters, Jasper Johns’, series of "Flag" paintings that were a milestone in Contemporary Art. The artwork will become the cover of a 2013 CD (“Let Us In Americana”) benefiting The Women And Cancer Fund.
The “Let Us In Americana” CD is the follow up collection – the first, last year’s “Let Us In Nashville – A Tribute To Linda McCartney” (Reviver Records) - features varying recording artists-selected songs by Sir Paul McCartney. Autumn’s flag artwork lends itself well to the planned music - 2013 CD release featuring such artists as: Lee Ann Womack, Steve Earle and Allison Moorer, Jim Lauderdale, Sam Bush, Matraca Berg, Will Hoge, and Buddy Miller, to name a few.
