Classroom News from Mrs. Carter’s LLD Room at Wallkill Valley Regional High School
Students in Mrs. Carter’s LLD classroom which is in the Wallkill Valley Regional High School and consists of approximately 10 students ranging from grades 9-12, have been participating in a few community Valentine Day Activities:
Despite the snow the student’s were busy writing Valentine Cards for the US Military Troops. They participated with the Nash 94.7 “Valentines for our Troops” Campaign in conjunction with the organization: Support our Troops. This is the 2nd year the class has participated.
The students are also active in a pen pal program with residents from the Bristol Glen Assisted Living in Newton, NJ. In December of 2019 the class visited the center for a sing along and to play different games with the residents. When Covid happened the class felt it would be a great idea to reach out to the staff and begin a pen pal program. The students and residents have been writing letters back and forth since September of 2020. If we can bring a smile and a little cheer to those at Bristol Glen we will.
