EDISON, NJ -- The Middle School swim team at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison collected 17 individual medals and placed in four relays in a dominant performance at the Ranney Invitational.
Aryan Kapoor of Millburn prevailed in the 100 individual medley and 100 breaststroke to lead the Rams. He also joined Ethan Guo of Warren, William Tao of Perth Amboy and Ben Kim of Springfield on the winning 100 medley relay and teamed with Sammy Faust of Westfield, Tao and Kim on the winning 100 free relay.
Phoebe Kaplan of Scotch Plains also won two gold medals, taking first in the 50 butterfly and 50 free. Other individual winners were Abigail Ibironke of Piscataway in the 25 free and James Sartor of Green Brook in the 50 free. Kaplan also joined Claire Lu of Edison, Sophia Fontaine of Somerville and Ibironke in the second-place 100 free relay.
Other W+H medal winners included: Andrew Kojima of Edison in the 100 free (5th) and 50 backstroke (3rd), Faust in the 100 free (6th) and 50 free (2nd), Kim in the 25 free (2nd) and 50 breast (2nd), Sartor in the 25 free (4th), Lu in the 25 free (5th), Tao in the 50 fly (2nd), Thomas O’Connor of South Plainfield in the 50 fly (6th) and 200 free (3rd) and Fontaine in the 50 free (5th) and 50 back (2nd). Sartor joined Luke Zuzovsky of Mountainside, Kojima and O’Connor on the third-place 200 free relay.
