WARREN/WATCHUNG, NJ - Warren Township and Watchung Borough both unanimously passed proclamations at their last meetings recognizing the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment.

 

On February 9, 1920, New Jersey voted to ratify the Nineteenth Amendment. By August of 1920, 36 states had ratified the amendment and it became law, ensuring that the right to vote could not be denied based on sex.

Warren Township committee person Jolanta Maziarz read the proclamation  on Thursday night.
