WARREN, NJ - The Township Committee and the Office of Emergency Management advises that a Tropical Storm Warning has been issued and Isaias is expected to impact Warren Township with heavy rain and strong winds. Warren residents need to be prepared for the possibility of power outages. Please read the following tips:

  • Please review your family's Emergency Plan. Be prepared to have enough food, water, medications and other necessities for you, your family and your pets to stay in your home for at least a week without power. Have extra batteries for flashlights and fully charge your cell phones. Download the Recommended Supplies List (PDF)

  • If you or a loved one have special or medical needs, please plan for upcoming weather conditions by making necessary arrangements in the event of power loss. This may include going to a hotel or staying with family members or friends who have electricity if COVID-19 safety precautions can be utilized.

  • Check on your neighbors, particularly the elderly. If you feel they need a wellness check, call the Warren Township Police at 908-753-1000. The Police will check on them.

  • If you are using a generator to operate a well, refrigerator, and/or sump pump, please do so in a proper and safe manner. Never use generators in an enclosed area such as a garage.

  • Water is currently available by hand pump located to the right of the snack shack at the ball fields. Bring a bucket or bottles to hold it.

  • After the storm has passed, please stay off the roads until the Department of Public Works can clear roads of trees not involving wires. The utility company must clear downed wires before the trees can be cleared off the road and that might take days.

  • Secure outdoor tents and furniture or bring it inside, fuel up your car, get extra cash ahead of time because ATMs could be down.

  • In case of wide-spread power outages, cooling/charging centers using COVID-19 safety precautions with access to WIFI will be opened during the days; however, no centers will be opened until the roads are cleared and safe for residents to travel.

  • Make sure you always report power outages to your utility company, not the Police Department.  PSE&G: 1-800-436-7734. JCP&L: 1-888-544-4877
