Watchung Hills Boys Soccer Defeats Westfield to Advance to Section Finals

WARREN, NJ -  The No. 1 Watchung Hills boys soccer team beat No. 5 Westfield, 2-1,  in the semi-final round of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 Tournament this afternoon, advancing to the section finals on Friday.

The Warriors found the net early in the first half and never looked back.

Junior Kevin Cagnetta scored both first half goals for the Warriors on assists from Ben Roth and Ray Arnold.

Behind 2-0, the Blue Devils cut the lead in half on Mike Dabulus's penalty kick in the second, but could not get the equalizer.

Watchung Hills goal keeper J.P. Gavin  made nine saves, while Westfield's Koryn Kraemer faced 17 shots on goal.

The Warriors will face Millburn in the section finals on Friday. The Millers beat No. 3 Scotch Plains-Fanwood, 1-0.
