Due to wet weather throughout the Township, rescue crews were called out on Wednesday night around 6:18 p.m. in the area of Gertrude Avenue and Whetherill Road for a “water rescue.”

According to reports, residents in a house close to Pawlings Road, in the 1500 block of Gertrude Avenue, were flooded and stranded in their home. Lower Providence Fire Department, Engine 53, reported to the scene and requested that a ladder be brought in to access residents via a window. A ladder truck and crew responded via Wetherrill Road in an attempt to reach the home.

Traffic is being stopped at Pawlings Road and Pawlings Circle so that crews have complete access to the area.
