BASKING RIDGE, NJ – Walter Pardo says you need three things to succeed: vision, capital, and chutzpah.
He should know.
The managing partner and founder of Wealth Financial Partners, formerly of Short Hills, came to the wealth management business due to circumstances in his own life.
“After the events of 2001 and the financial meltdown of 2008, I had an awakening,” Pardo says. “All the investments I dealt with – bonds, stocks, municipal bonds – are merely a means to an end. Two events changed the direction of my practice and my life. First, my father died unexpectedly in 1999, leaving my mother financially shaken and unprepared. Second, my father-in-law’s aging physical and mental disabilities made him a permanent resident of a long-term care facility in Queens, New York. I began a crusade to make sure that families are not ill-prepared, as my family was, during this life-changing crisis.”
From those beginnings, Pardo created his business, which delivers personalized service to clients nationwide.
Because Wealth Financial Partners is independently owned, they are able to offer an unbiased, objective approach to best serve each client’s unique investment needs. Pardo’s mission is to provide the families and businesses his company serves with innovative financial strategies, solutions and planning that result in clients feeling confident in their financial well-being and overall quality of life.
“Our objective is to help clients accumulate and preserve the wealth that extensive education and years of hard work have earned,” Pardo says.
Three of Wealth Financial Partners’ founding principles are empathy, altruism and alchemy.
“Empathy is assimilation,” Pardo explains. “You can identify with me. My dad died. My father-in-law is in a nursing home. I pay taxes. I’ve lost money in the market the same as anyone. Altruism is about karma. You have to give it away to get it. Too many people in the financial world think more about their wallet than the client’s wallet, and that’s where they go wrong. And alchemy is about taking the resources you have and creating something better. These three things are the culmination of what I’m trying to do. It’s not about the money, it’s about helping people.”
Pardo also owns WFP Tax Partners, a separate company that provides tax planning services, including CPA-prepared Roth Conversion Analysis, second opinions on the prior year’s individual and business tax returns, CPA-prepared year-end tax filing service, 1040 Tax Optimization Reports and personalized tax reduction reports.
