Weatherman "Mr. G" to Speak at 39th Annual Senior Council Awards Luncheon on May 6 at L'Affaire

WPIX-TV and CBS radio celebrity weatherman Mr. G will be the featured speaker at the 39th Annual Union County Senior Citizens Council Awards Luncheon on Thursday, May 6th at L'Affaire in Mountainside.

"The theme of this year's luncheon is 'Who can you trust?'" said Board Chair Ellen Steinberg, "And we all trust Mr. G." Union County Consumer Affairs Director Florence Peterson will also be on hand to give her thoughts on the most important consumer issues of today.

The Awards Luncheon is dedicated to the senior volunteers. Nominated by their clubs for dedicated service to the clubs, ten volunteers will be honored. "Each year our seniors look forward to this event," said Executive Director Richard Stone. "Last year over 300 people attended."

Registration begins at 8:30am with a continental breakfast served until 10:00am. Representatives from numerous private companies, non-profit organizations and government agencies will be on hand to provide information for older adults and their families. There will be a complete sit-down luncheon along with the formal program. Entertainment for the event will be provided by the Mike Capobianco Trio. Special presentations and door prizes will complete the program.
