TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy released the latest COVID-19 figures from around the New Jersey on Wednesday. He and the First Lady also went into voluntary self-quarantine after finding out the governor had been in close proximity to a senior staffer who tested positive for coronavirus.
There were 1,062 new cases reported, with 18 new deaths. Statewide, there are 223,223 positive cases and 14,456 deaths, and 1,789 probable COVID-19 fatalities.
According to Murphy, Bergen County has 24,066 positive cases, and followed by Essex (22,877), Hudson (22,004), Middlesex (21,229), Passaic (20,160), and 404 under investigation.
Essex County has the highest new cases at 134 new cases, followed by Bergen (124), Hudson (116), Union (102) and Middlesex (80.)
As of 10 p.m. Tuesday, there were 844 people hospitalized, 175 patients in ICU and 63 on ventilators.
