West Essex High School Latin Students Receive Poetry Awards

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ - Eleven West Essex High School students were selected to represent West Essex and participate in the 31st Annual William Paterson World Language Poetry Recitation Contest.
 
The students, all selected by their language teachers. joined over 900 language students from New Jersey and New York in the competition. The students competed in beginner, intermediate, advanced and native categories. Their recitation was judged on memorization, poise, pronunciation and intonation.
 
Three Latin students received awards. They are: Max Prince, who earned a 2nd place in the beginner level; Bennett Chamberlain, who received honorable mention in the intermediate level; and Amanda Wasserman who was awarded 2nd place in the advanced level.
