West Essex Y Announces New Fall Programs and Reduced Membership Rate

LIVINGSTON, NJ – The West Essex YMCA has recently announced new programs and hours for this coming fall season. It will also be offering a lower membership rate and a $0 joiner fee for new adult, senior and family members who join September.

"We are excited to offer new programming and extended Y hours in September. Our Y strives to meet the needs of everyone in our community, and we welcome all to come visit us this fall," said Cheryl Francione, associate executive director.

Beginning Sept. 2, there will be expanded operating hours: 4:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday; 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays; and, 6:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

New fall youth sports classes include roller hockey and soccer and additional basketball classes have been added, in preparation for the youth basketball league, which begins Nov. 1. A new speed & agility training program was also created for young athletes between ages13 and 17.

In addition, the Y is offering free programs to benefit the community and to keep kids safe. Free swim lessons for all second graders and a free membership for all seventh graders are included. The Y programs include preschool, after school care and day camp as well as swim lessons, sports classes, and a wide variety of adult activities for people of all ages.

The West Essex YMCA is inviting the community to “Play More, Pay Less” this September. New YMCA members can take advantage of a reduced membership rate through Dec. 31 and also pay no joiner fee. 

A YMCA Facility Membership includes the free wellness coaching program, free child watch and youth room, free group exercise classes and use of most YMCAs in NJ.
