WEST ORANGE, NJ - West Orange Cares will be shipping supplies to soldiers stationed in Afghanistan on Saturday, Nov. 16, and they are seeking assistance.

The event will be held at Liberty Middle School, 1 Kelly Drive, beginning at 8 a.m. when the West Orange Cares Team, along with volunteers, will unload and sort all collected supplies.   At 9 a.m., packing begins. The entire process ends by 11 a.m. with a truck loaded with boxed supplies.

Last year, West Orange cares shipped a truckload of supplies to troops in Afghanistan and Kuwait. Packing Day was delayed due to Hurricane Sandy but went off without a hitch.

This year, organizer Micky Wagner will be sure to provide needed toiletries, books, magazines, candy, and more to American soldiers.

There's still time to donate.  Items of special need are baby wipes--showers are not always easily available in the desert; sunblock--no explanation necessary; toiletry items: shampoos, conditioners, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and shower gel, and one of the soldier's favorites: candy.

Email Micky Wagner if you can help out with those items before Saturday at
