West Orange Department of Recreation Announces Sports Signups, Events, and More

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Spring has sprung and the West Orange Department of Recreation has announced several important sports sign-ups and events. Here's a roundup of what's happening with the Rec Department.

Baseball and Softball Tryouts - May 17and 18

Travel Softball Tryouts - 3:00 pm Pleasantdale Field. 10U 12U and 14U (third through eighth)Teams, Mid-June through late July.

Boys Baseball Tryouts - O'Connor Park. 1:00 pm, current third and fourth graders. 2:30 pm, current fourth and fifth graders. 4:00 pm, current seventh graders.

Summer Registration Night at The Town Pool

Thursday, May 15, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Ginny Duenkel Pool in Colgate Park. Sign up for pool memberships, Summer programs, sports camps and more. Check out the progress on the Mini Water Park and  Spray Pad.

Basketball Tryouts - May 20 and May 22, Boys and Girls

Basketball Tryouts - WOHS South Gym. 6:00 pm, current third and fourth graders; 7:30, current sixth and seventh graders. 
Note: Children must attend at least one tryout to be considered for the team.

West Orange PAL Special Needs Baseball Game and BBQ

The West Orange PAL will hold its annual event for special needs kids Ages 8-18 at the PAL field on Sunday, June 1 beginning at 1 pm. This event is sponsored by WOPAL and the Mayor's Footsteps Program. To register call 325-4150. 

Annual Lefty Boland Golf Tournament

The Annual Lefty Boland Golf Tournament will be held Monday, June 23 at the Rock Spring Club, Costs  include Lunch, Golf, Cocktail Hour & Buffet Dinner. Proceeds benefit the Mayor's Footsteps Program.
