
WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange Education Foundation (WOEF), in conjunction with the Betty Maddalena Foundation, will hold a Tricky Tray on Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Hanover Manor.
The fundraiser will provide support to the Special Education students in the West Orange School district., including funds for the Betty Maddalena Life Skills Center at WOHS and the purchase of technology for Self Contained Special Education Classrooms.
The West Orange Public Schools district offers extensive special education programs to its students, ages 3-21, who have a wide range of disabilities. They include autism, developmental disabilities, specific learning disabilities, intellectual impairments, emotional and/or behavioral disabilities, speech and language disabilities, deaf-blind, visual disabilities, hearing impairments, orthopedic or physical impairments, other health impaired (including attention deficit disorder), multiple disabilities and traumatic brain injury. Depending on the students' individual needs, they may be included, mainstreamed, or placed in a special school, and/or may receive many specialized services in a resource room or self-contained classroom.
