West Orange High School Mountaineer Auto Shop Offering Free Oil Changes to Senior Citizens

WEST ORANGE, NJ - From May 27 through May 30, the West Orange High School Auto Shop is offering free oil changes to senior citizens at the Mountaineer Auto Shop in the rear of the high school near the soccer field. 

The West Orange High School Mountaineer Auto Shop is pleased to announce its First Annual Senior Citizen Oil Change Week. The fully functional automotive shop will give student the opportunity to apply their automotive knowledge by offering seniors free labor. Senior citizens must make an appointment with Ryan DelGuercio, Dean of Students and Director of Technical education, at 973-669-5301 x 31529, and purchase their oil and filter prior to their service appointment. 

NAPA Auto Parts located at 614 Pompton Avenue in Cedar Grove, is extending the school discount to all Seniors who inform them that they are purchasing the oil/oil filter for the “Senior Citizen Oil Change Week”.   The oil change is expected to take approximately 30 minutes.

  “This program is designed to benefit both the Senior Citizens of West Orange and the Automotive Technology Students at WOHS," said DelGuercio. 

"It is also a great event where our community’s diversity is celebrated through the interaction between the Senior Citizens and high school students,“ he noted.

The Auto Shop is located in the back of the school. Take Alisa Drive near Degnan Park, enter the parking lot, and proceed towards the area for the oil changes.
