West Orange High School Principal Hayden Moore Joins Twitter for Closer Connection to Students, Parents and Community

October 17, 2013 at 11:37 PM

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Principal Hayden Moore is a man on a mission - to improve the lines of communication between students, parents, and the West Orange community.  To that end, Mr. Moore has taken the next logical step and will be using social media to foster a stronger connection.

Moore is getting in on a whole new level of conversation with a Twitter account (@MrMooreWO) and wants students, parents, faculty and community members to follow him and engage in 140-character dialogues.

Moore knows the names of almost all 2200 students at the high school,  but their Twitter handles will be a whole new ball game.  He remains enthusiastic, however, as he embarks upon his new adventure.

“Any topic is fair game," said Moore. “As principal, my priority is the education, safety and well-being of our students. Twitter is a two-way street. Not only is it a quick and effective way for me to reach a large audience, it also provides a gateway for students and parents to reach out to me at any point in time."

Mr. Moore plans to tweet updates about WOHS, teachers, students, sports teams, happenings and more. His Twitter followers can also look forward to "behind the scenes” photos from the principal’s point of view.
