WEST ORANGE, NJ - Hundreds of family, friends, and appreciative spectators enjoyed the performances of 19 statewide Winter Color Guards at the Ninth Annual Mid-Atlantic Indoor Competition (M.A.I.N.) Invitational on Jan. 18 at West Orange High School.

Winter Color Guard performances included team dance choreography combined with the use of flags, rifles, and sabres. The programs were artistically and technically complex and were judged on presentation of the team and the elements incorporated into the routine. Routines were choreographed to music.

18 groups competed and West Orange High School performed an Exhibition Routine as hosts of the Invitational. Below is a list of first place teams:

Independent Junior - First place: Fusion; Junior Independent Novice - First place: True Colors Scholastic; Novice - First place: Wayne Hills HS; Scholastic Regional A - First place: Ridgewood HS; Independent A - First place: Emanon A; Scholastic A - First place: Bridgewater Raritan; Independent Open - Point Indoor Guard; Scholastic Open - Somerville HS; and Independent World - Emanon World.
