WEST ORANGE, NJ - A woman was found murdered in a residence on the 100 block of Chestnut Street on Tuesday, Sept. 3, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and West Orange Police Chief James Abbott.
A medical aid call was placed to the West Orange Police Department shortly before 1 p.m. Arriving officers discovered a female, identified as Sandy Yuen, 58, unresponsive in her residence. She was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.
The Prosecutor’s Homicide and Major Crimes Task Force and the West Orange Police Department are investigating the incident. The cause of death has not been officially determined, and will be done so by an autopsy at the New Jersey Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. That information was provided by Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly of the Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit.
