May 7, 2014 at 11:06 PM

WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange High School Varsity Lacrosse team fell to Passaic Valley in overtime, 7-6, in an exciting come-from-behind effort that just missed the mark.

The halftime score was 4-2 in favor of Passaic Valley after a few errors on the part of the Mountaineers created lost shots on goal and ball turnover in favor of the Hornets. At the end of the third, Passaic Valley had added another goal.

An exciting fourth quarter comeback on the part of the Mountaineers turned the game around as goals by Alex Elliott, Marshall Lipsey and Chris Hanley tied the score at 5-5. Passaic Valley scored again and Alex Elliott stiffed the ball through the Hornet's defense in the last six seconds of the game to tie the score, 6-6.
