WEST ORANGE, NJ — A 51-year-old West Orange man was injured early Sunday morning after attempting to extinguish a fire that broke out in his home on Marie Terrace, according to the West Orange Fire Department.

Fire officials reported that the resident suffered burns to his arms after he tried to put out the fire prior to their arrival. He was taken to Saint Barnabas Medical Center, where he treated and release.

The cause of the fire, which was extinguished in about 15 minutes once firefighters arrived, is currently under investigation.
