WEST ORANGE. NJ - It was a big weekend for the West Orange Police Athletic League and the Mazurek family, as Andrew Mazurek Sr. was honored on Saturday, February 23 at the Rec Achievement Awards Luncheon and his son, Andrew Mazurek Jr., along with his PAL Junior Pee Wee Footbal team were recognized at the UNICO Breakfast on Sunday, February 24.

Andrew Jr. introduced his Dad at the Rec Achievement Awards Luncheon Saturday afternoon. Andrew Mazurek Sr. was a long time PAL and traveling team baseball coach in West Orange.

On Sunday morning, Sal Anderton presented a special award to Andrew Mazurek Jr., the PAL Jr. Pee Wee Football coach, and his team, who were undefeated in their 2012 season, 13-0, and ranked third in the state of New Jersey for their age group.

There is still time to sign up online for the spring PAL Baseball season.  Online signups end on March 1.

PAL has announced that they will be holding a baseball clinic at Washington St School Gym on Friday, March 1, from 6pm - 8pm.  Families can also sign up for PAL Baseball at the gym during the clinic.  The clinic will cover general baseball mechanics and practice techniques.

Kickball signups will be available online until March 15. Go to to sign up and get more information.
