WEST ORANGE, NJ — Four more vehicles were broken into in West Orange over the last week, according to police who are investigating each of these cases.
Saturday morning between 2:55 a.m. and 10:05 a.m., a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta was burglarized on Standish Avenue, according to police reports. The car was parked on Standish Avenue, facing south on the west curb, and the police report says that five suspects ransacked the inside of the vehicle. Further investigation revealed, the vehicle's driver, passenger and trunk were slightly ajar.
Police report that there were two vehicle break-ins on Ashland Avenue, one occurring between the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 8 and the morning of Saturday, Sept. 12, and the other one that same Saturday morning. A 2013 Ford Mustang and a 2010 Hyundai Elantra, respectively, were burglarized.
A 2015 Toyota Camry was burglarized between late Thursday night and early Friday morning on Gilbert Place. Police report that while parked and unoccupied in the driveway of the residence, the car, which was most likely left unlocked, had its front driver side door slightly ajar. The woman who owns the Camry reported several items missing from the vehicle.
Police have not said whether they believe any of these incidents are connected. There were several reports of car break-ins in West Orange in the weeks prior to these most recent incidents.
