West Orange Police Officers Receive Minor Injuries During High Speed Carjacker Pursuit

August 10, 2013 at 11:06 PM

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Four West Orange officers received minor injuries during the pursuit of a BMW carjacked at gunpoint from the Essex Green Shopping Plaza on August 9.  The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 pm.

Two or more individuals in an Infiniti carjacked the BMW at gunpoint.  One exited the vehicle and took the BMW, and both the driver of the Infiniti and the BMW sped out of the Essex Green parking area together.  Police began pursuit of both vehicles on Mount Pleasant Avenue heading towards Orange. The Infiniti was identified as having been carjacked in Orange on August 8.

Charles Bracy, one of the suspected carjackers driving the Infiniti, rammed into  two West Orange police cruisers, damaging the vehicles and causing minor shoulder injuries to three police officers.

The high speed chase continued East into Orange, where Bracy crashed the Infiniti into a parked car located on Ward Street.  He then bolted from the vehicle and fled on foot.  In the process, he jumped a fence and dropped a handgun. An officer pursuing Bracy stepped on a nail and injured his foot.

Officers from West Orange and Orange, along with a K-9 Unit, tracked Bracy down after establishing a perimeter around the area.  The BMW, which continued traveling after the Infiniti crashed, headed east on Route 280 and was lost by the police. Bracy was arrested.

The four officers were given medical treatment and released.

Let’s make America the Greatest Show on Earth Again.

I was very sad to learn that after 146 years of big-top entertainment the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus is folding its tent and leaving town.

This comes a year after the circus, due to mounting pressures from animal rights activists, got rid of the elephants.

It is not really ...
